The Worldhopper Ball with Dragonsteel

BRAND: Dragonsteel

LOCATION: Salt Lake City, UT

ROLE: Executive Producer

YEARS PRODUCED: Multiple Years (2024-2025)

Each year during Dragonsteel Nexus, an annual fan conference welcoming nearly 10,000 attendees, Dragonsteel expands its programming with the Worldhopper Ball — a ticketed, high-end immersive experience designed to bring Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere to life. In 2024 and 2025, I served as Executive Producer for the Worldhopper Ball, partnering closely with the Dragonsteel team to transform beloved, canonical moments from the books into a live, story-driven “experiential novella” for fans.

Produced alongside the main conference, the Worldhopper Ball offered attendees the opportunity to step inside a different world each year, observing and interacting with characters brought to life by professional actors in a meticulously designed, scripted environment. From the wedding of Adolin and Shallan in 2024 to the Waltz of the Final Empire inspired by Mistborn in 2025, every iteration combined theatrical performance, aerialists, bespoke environments, themed food and beverage, and original music to create a fully immersive, narrative-forward experience. Guests arrived in formal or semi-formal attire, often cosplay-inspired, and were invited to spend a few unforgettable hours inhabiting a fantastical high society pulled directly from the page.

To accommodate demand and maximize access, the Worldhopper Ball was produced up to five times over the course of three days, welcoming approximately 600–700 guests per performance. Each iteration was carefully reset and re-performed to maintain continuity, quality, and story integrity at scale — delivering a premium, repeatable experience that balanced exclusivity with reach while remaining deeply authentic to the source material.
